Not much. Numbing cream goes on first if you want it, & most people describe light pressure or a fine scratching. Tell us if it's too much & we'll adjust.
How many sessions will I need?
Most plans are 3 to 6 sessions, 4 to 6 weeks apart. Texture & pores usually need fewer, while acne scars sit at the higher end. We'll map it out at your first visit.
Is there any downtime?
Expect redness & a tight, sunburned feeling for 24 to 48 hours, sometimes light flaking after. Most people are back to their usual plans the next day, with gentle skincare & SPF.
Is it safe for my skin tone?
Yes. Microneedling works without heat or light, so it suits every skin tone. Tell us if you've had dark marks after past treatments.
Can it help acne scars?
Yes, it's one of the most studied uses. Scars take longer than texture, so plan for a fuller series.
Who isn't it for?
We don't treat during pregnancy or breastfeeding, within 6 months of Accutane, or over active acne, cold sores or broken skin. Tell us about blood thinners when you book.
Do I need a booster?
No. Microneedling works on its own. Boosters are for people who want more from each session: exosomes are our regenerative option, BioRePeel resurfaces for a brighter, more even surface, & CO2Lift Pro calms the look of redness before you leave. Your provider will tell you if one suits your skin.
Which device do you use?
We use two professional devices, SkinPen & DP4, both licensed by Health Canada. What matters more is how they're set. Your provider chooses the depth for each area based on your skin, like how deep your acne scars are.
