Laser hair removal is the process of removing unwanted hair by means of exposure to pulses of laser light that destroy the hair follicle offering permanent hair reduction. Suitable for darker hair only.

Results
There should be an approximate reduction of 80% after 6-10 sessions. The hair remaining is usually fine and is treated with laser touch ups and/or electrolysis. If you have any history of irregular periods, polycystic ovary disease, gray, blonde, red or white hairs, or a family history of excessive hair, hormonal imbalances, use of medications or darker skin, you may require additional treatments. There are all factors that can interfere with your success with laser hair removal.
Maintenance: After 80% reduction, touch ups are recommended to continue the effectiveness of Laser Hair Removal. Touch ups are 50% off the regular price and are usually determined by the Medical Aesthetician.
What to expect: The pulsing from the laser can feel like an elastic band hitting your skin. Afterwards, it is normal to experience some redness, warmth and in some cases temporary swelling.
Contraindications
- AVOID ALL TOPICAL IRRITANTS on treatment area 2 months before and throughout laser treatments. EXAMPLES: AHA's, Topical Acids, Astringents, Retin A or Retinols, Hydroquinone.
- AVOID SELF TANNER, TANNING BEDS AND SUN EXPOSURE 4 weeks before and throughout laser treatments.
- AVOID ANY SKIN RESURFACING TREATMENTS 4 weeks before and throughout laser treatments.
- AVOID ANY INVASIVE SKIN TREATMENTS one year before and throughout laser treatments. Example: Laser Skin Resurfacing, Fraxel, Invasive Chemicals Peels, and etc...
- You must be off ACCUTANE and any other photo sensitizing medications at least 12 months before starting laser treatments.
- Please keep your medical aesthetician informed of all your medical history and skin care history as well as any changes.
Pre-Treatment
- Do not do any of the following for 4-8 weeks prior to laser treatment: bleach, thread, tweeze, wax, electrolysis or any depilatory creams.
- Make sure the areas to be treated have been cleansed thoroughly and free from any makeup or creams prior to treatment
- The area for laser treatment has to be shaved within 24 hours prior to treatment
- In case of low pain tolerance, we recommend taking Tynenol and/or use a topical anesthetic on the treatment area prior to your treatment
Post Treatment
- Avoid any heat to treatment area. Avoid any hot showers, sauna and excessive sweating for at least 24 hours post treatment.
- Cold/Ice Packs may be used to reduce any swelling or tenderness you may be experience.
- Avoid using any harsh or irritating topicals in treatment area. you may only apply either polysporin or pure aloe vera gel to the treatment area afterwards.
- ALWAYS APPLY SUNSCREEN TO TREATMENT AREA WHENEVER EXPOSED OUTDOORS!
- AVOID SUN EXPOSURE, TANNING BEDS AND SELF TANNERS THROUGHOUT THE COURSE OF LASER TREATMENTS!
